Kate Chopin was an American author of short stories and novels. The Chopin's creation includes the feminist themes: most of her fiction is set in Louisiana and most of her best-known works focus on the lives of sensitive, intelligent women. "Regret" was first published in 1897 and entered in Chopin's short story collection "A Night in Acadia". The story is about a woman named Mamzelle Aurlie, that lived a lonely life, and she thought she is happy with the life she has. She had never thought of marrying and had never been in love.
