What if you and your spouse have been kidnapped? The kidnappers have committed a murder right in front of you, in your own home? What if the person died while trying to defend you? What would you do? These are the questions that community role model Charles Champion must resolve. Before the incident, Charles, the protagonist of the story, was able to live out his dreams at a young age, despite the many discouraging situations that surrounded his life. Growing up in the ghetto was a struggle, but having a mother in and out of jail was not easy for him to deal with. During his teens, his uncle Jay had been there for him and his little brother; but Jay's alcoholism only made the home more dysfunctional; which made Charles more determined to make a good life for himself and his family. Unlike his two best friends, Charles completed High School. When most would have given up, he pressed on. However, he is faced with jealousy, envy, betrayal and even hate.  This book is a very inspirational book that young adults will relate to, enjoy and learn that there are better options in life. "Resilient" has allowed Anaji to explore not only the heightened sense of mystery, but gives him the opportunity to encounter worlds and shape a story that encompasses those settings. We are excited about this book, which is the first in a series of books with a similar multicultural theme. Anaji's goal is to be a brand name and attract a loyal audience. He is devoted to reaching his full potential. He is a writer, role model, husband and father who grew up in New York and New Jersey. His work is only one indication of his love and concern for the urban community.
