Retribution

Edward Hightower is the son of an Apache shaman and a Celtic wise woman. A psychic investigator, people come to him when traditional avenues fail to yield results. He uses flames to summon visions in his endeavors to "see." Delores Stockard, a reclusive famous model and widow, once came to him when her son was stolen by a ring of pedophiles. At their parting, Edward knew Delores was his true love. He can literally feel the bond connecting them together in the past, the present and the future. She has reached out to him again for his help. Delores wants him to find a blackmailer and retrieve incriminating photographs before her father-in-law uses them to take her son Stephan away in a custody battle. She tells Edward a plausible story of her past, however his psychic senses tell him she is giving only half-truths to his questions.
Delores is hiding an ugly history. When she was a child, her step-father sold her to become a sex slave. When opportunity presented itself, she did not hesitate to murder her tormentor and escape. Fate smiled on her until she attracted the eye of wealthy Kyle Stockarda psychopath. When Kyle coaxes her sordid past from her, he beats her to unconsciousness in a rage and flees to Europe. Upon his alleged death, she creates a secure oasis for her small family. That haven is now threatened by the return of a demented Kyle.
When Edward sees a vision with a horrific fire engulfing Delores and Stephan, he knows that Kyle will use arson to kill Delores and Stephan. Fire is Edward's to control, but will his skill be enough to end the reign of a madman and save the ones he loves?
