A Good Clean Romance
Romeo & Juliet of St. Petersburg is a fun baby-boomer romantic comedic novel set in St. Petersburg, FL, one of the preeminent retirement centers of America.
Romeo is a 70 year old Italian American man, and looks very much like actor Robin Williams may have looked in his seventies. Juliet is a spitting image of Margaret Avery ("Shug" from the film, The Color Purple) a tad younger than Romeo.
This is not a tragedy but a light, fun romantic comedy twist on the Bard's classic adaptations. A purely fun read.
Romeo & Juliet are retirees living in St. Pete, FL. They meet, fall in love and their families have trouble with both the bi-racial component but as much with their notions of whether senior romance is even appropriate. They just don't understand that their parents really are part of the Woodstock generation and what all that means.
