Continuing on their way they encountered some which stood out from the crowdspeople distinctly as they passed by them. Passing by Selina and Harrison the trio kept glancing at her with hostility but keeping to a bearing of arrogant superiority. Light-medium grey-skinned as well as entirely hairless, they were impossible to identify as male or female as they bore no traces of such identifying traits. They wore clothing that was simple, pragmatic, entirely functional versus stylish to the absolute furthest such a concept could be taken; Lightly insulated dark blue-gray overalls with transparent plastipolymer rain slickers over such against the next imminent drizzle from the Grey above.

As they passed and the trio of grey-skinned people blended into and vanished into the crowds behind them, Harrison looked at his companion questioningly as he spoke.

"I've seen some weird in my time, but what's up with them? Theythey didn't come off as even Human. The looks they were giving you, what was that about?" He said.

"Those were Gender Zero. They popped up around the time I was born, I think, maybe a little earlier. They're completely genderless, they have comprehensive elective genetic surgery to remove any and all gender characteristics. It's so complete that I hear they don't have even remnant vestigial characteristics. They consider themselves the next step forward in Human evolution, a great leap forward to.what's the word? Apotheosis. That's it." Selina told him.

"So, they're kind of a cult?" Harrison asked.

Selina considered that then replied.

"No, not really. They don't recruit as far as anyone knows, but they're numbers are growing, and they have kids, again same as the adults in being totally genderless. Lotsa whispers about that, Gene-splicing recombination and artificial wombs, industrialized propagation. No one knows anything concrete, right? No one goes poking to see. No one cares as they don't stir things. They do the quiet thing, no trouble, no fuss, no headlines. I think it's stealth, that they're playing long-plan. Just a gut-level and back-of-the-neck thing, can't prove it." Selina replied.

Harrison shook his head.

"The longer I live, the weirder this world gets." He said as they continued slowly onward.
