SEALED is a very candid and up close look at the pain and rejection caused by the birth and adoption process in the writer's life . She was relinquished for adoption in the early 1980's when adoptions were typically closed ,without much identifying information given. Back then there wasn't the information there is now about children needing the bonding experience we now know to be vital. After children were released from the hospital they were in foster care until the time of the adoption placement. This compounded with the disconnect from the birthmother in the womb in causes what is called "adoption trauma". SEALED explains how this wound created an enormous number of problems in the writer's life and how she drifted from one toxic marriage to marriage, and used drugs, and was even almost even killed one night by her abusive husbands, but God spared her life and that night she started to pray for the first time in a very long time.
