This book is the second in the series, Proud to be Canadian. The first was set at Moose Mountain Provincial Park in Saskatchewan and this one is set in Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba.

Samantha Kingsley had always been a happy, content woman, especially since marrying the love of her life, Eric. With the addition of their two children, their lives became happily busy, leaving her even more fulfilled and content.

Sam had spent her whole life travelling for 'getaways' to Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park, in the heart of Manitoba, Canada. The Lake was her 'happy' place and had been since she had been born. This summer, she was relying on Clear Lake to be her salvation, to literally help to save her life.

Sam's mom, Doris, was the current owner of the family cabin tucked in beside the shores of Clear Lake. She loved to spend as much time out there as possible, nestled into the woods. Usually relaxed and at peace at the Lake, Doris was findng this particular year a little more stressful. She had a secret that she had to reveal to her family and she couldn't seem to bring herself to do it.

Adelyn, who had just moved to Portage for work, was holding a secret of her own. Her handsome boyfriend, who was several years her senior, was the love of her life. Her mom and her best friend strongly disapproved of Neil but she didn't care. When her grandma invites her to Clear Lake for a birthday celebraton, she hopes that Neil can join her and that her family will be able to see for themselves what a wonderful man that he is.

All three women love Riding Mountain and are each secretly holding out hope that the time spent at the Lake will transform their lives.
