I am a female, freelance, editorial writer, but I dressed up as a man and went to the adult downtown cinema. I was there to get an anonymous interview. But my anonymity sparked sexual freedom I never knew existed. Erotica for Men. (Lesbian, bi-sexual erotica.)

Excerpt:

I had thought about going to the Strand Cinema several times. It was an adult theater, but I had scheduling conflicts.

The Strand was in the crosshairs of the conservative right in Kansas City who thought the theater should be moved from downtown which was going through a revitalization. Old buildings were being renovated and turned into apartments and condominiums as the upper-middle working class moved back into the city from the suburbs.

The Strand Cinema opened when those very same upper-middle-class residents moved out to the suburbs, leaving buildings empty.

And now they were back and didn't want a porn theater in their neighborhood.

I had planned on writing an essay examining both sides of this dilemma and selling it to one of Kansas City's profile papers.

I had already gotten the conservative point of view. I had interviewed religious leaders of the movement and politicians who were in favor of creating laws that would keep porn establishments on the outskirts of the city.

But many who were on the neutral ground didn't agree that the law should be changed to suit the conservative's own best interest.

I had yet to interview any individual that was a frequent patron of the Strand.

Porn was not something many individuals wanted others to know they watched. And Kansas City, despite some of its liberal thinking, rested in the conservative hotbed of America.

So scheduling an interview with patrons of the Strand was not going to happen easily.

My next best option was to get a series of interviews by patrons who didn't know they were being interviewed. I would not be able to print their real names, but I would at least get an assessment of how important the porn theater meant to them.

So I decided to simply buy a ticket and see the show.

I, at first, thought that directly walking in was a good approach, but I didn't want to be recognized as a reporter, so I thought I would wear a disguise or at least do my best.

I wore a pair of loose-fitting overalls to hide my curves and a large sweat top to cover my breasts. I stuffed my hair into a baseball cap and put on a fake beard and mustache.

I looked like a girl in a Halloween costume, but it would be dark in the theater.

I made sure no one was around when I bought my ticket. The cashier looked at me when he took my money, said nothing but smiled, and off I went undercover.

It was indeed dark when I walked into the theater. There was a walking path with illuminated lights at my feet and the path split a few feet from the main entrance.

One path went up a flight of stairs while the other stayed on the ground level and sloped down to the main walkway of movie seats.

I could hear the movie playing on this first level, so I walked downward several steps until the large movie screen came into view.

And there it was, sex as big as day on the screen. Two females were going at it. One blonde lay on her back with her thighs open as the other brunette licked...
