When Michael wakes from fitful sleep he knows everything has changed forever.

Stephanie is gone.

Though he longs for a moment of quiet and reflection, the chance is denied him when he realises that his hospital room has become a war zone.

The man guarding his door has little comfort, just a grim smile, tight fingers around the butt of an automatic rifle and a silent promise that Michael's problems are far from over.

Enter Gordon Hughes, a tall, commanding figure who appears to have all the answers. He instructs Michael to come with him and his companions in order to be safe. Michael has other ideas.
