SECOND SIGHT
I had recently shown up at Crude Bay on my yearly visit, and after a late breakfast was perched on the low divider which was a continuation of the escarpment of the extension over the Water of Crude. Inverse to me, across the street and remaining under the main little cluster of trees in the place was a tall, skinny elderly person, who continued to take a gander at me eagerly. As Is at, a little gathering, comprising of a man and two ladies, went by. I found my eyes follow them, for it appeared to me after they had passed me that the two ladies strolled together and the man alone in front carrying on his shoulder a little black box- - a casket. I shivered as I suspected, but second after the fact I saw every one of the three side by side similarly as they had been. The old woman was presently taking a gander at me with eyes that blasted. She ran over the road and told me without prelude:
"What saw ye then, at that point, that Vereen looked so awed?" I didn't like to tell her so I didn't reply. Her incredible eyes were fixed definitely upon me, appearing to look me completely. I felt that I became very red, whereupon she said, clearly to herself: "I thocht so! Indeed, even I did not see that which he saw."
