Shadows over Tindrel

Accepting her new dawn with Sikode brings the adventure Shiobe craves, but she never thought to leave the boundaries of her home country. Yet she accompanies Sikode to Merren, a land decimated by civil war and invasion.

Despite the danger, it is a fortuitous change. Shiobe discovers secret images in ancient manuscripts, ones that prove dragons exist. Sikode's childhood dream of mastering a dragon is no longer a laughable fantasy. King Shiel of Illena, seeing an opportunity, sends them on a quest to the Glass Volcano, the lair of Kykini Cede, Flame Dragon of Kassak.

Unfortunately, their plans go sideways. Rebels who are upset at the Illenan's continued presence in Merren, and not enamored with Prince-designate Cilair's leadership, attack them as they make their way north. Assassins target Shiel's cousin, and Shiobe and Sikode discover the bloodmages beholden to the previous ruler are not as vanquished as the Merren and Illenan crowns assume.

Defeating such dire enemies takes precedence, but another worry grips them; Kitta and Rien also travel to the Glass Volcano in search of the dragon.
