Ignac Kunos (18601945) was a Hungarian folklorist, linguist, turkologist. He was one of the most avowed scientists of Turkish dialectology and folk literature. He started his career focusing on the dialectology, phonological and morphological of the Hungarian language, and at university he started interesting in Turkish philology and language. After his trip at the Orient he collected Turkish fairy tales and published it in Forty-four Turkish Fairy Tales.

This fairy-tale was collected and retold by Ignac Kunos and it tells us about a poor man who had three daughters. As they lived in poverty they had nothing to eat and no crust of bread could be found in their house. So the daughters spun a thread and gave it to their father so he could sell it and buy something to eat. But nobody seemed to be willing to buy it
