Shaye and Grandad's Amazing Flying Machine

Shaye is different, or so everyone keeps telling him. He doesn't feel different and he doesn't look different, he feels like any normal ten year old boy.
William, Shaye's Grandad says that he is unique, a one off. And that they broke the mould when he was born so there will never be another one like him, and he shouldn't be controlled by labels. So grandad never mentions the Autism word or the A word as he calls it. He said that Shaye is Brilliant, a real thinker and Adventurer like all the great men and women.

GRANDAD HAD A DREAM.

After the most vivid dream William Williamson (Shaye's Grandad) had ever had, he had a BRILLIANT idea.
The most CRAZY idea you could ever imagine.
To be the first to build a bird like Flying Machine, with feathers, a tail and wings that flap like a bird. Many have tried and all have failed but Grandad is determined to succeed, with Shaye's help.
But this will not be easy, and it could be dangerous but Grandad and Shaye know they must build it.
Best of all ten year old Shaye will fly it because Shaye has no fear of heights unlike his grandad who gets dizzy standing on a chair.
Can they build it?
Will it work?
Will it even get off the ground?
Only time will tell, but they must try.

Beasty the old car SHOOTS up a steep hill and WHIZZES down a narrow lane. They pass a big field with several scary scarecrows. One of the scarecrow's looks just like his neighbour Mr Carnegie from number 6 thought Shaye; he wears the same type of peaked cap and tweed jacket. Except Mr Carnegie's jacket has more holes in it. Shaye remembers Mr Carnegie well, he has an odd smell like liquorice and the last time his mum was talking to him in the street he FARTED so loud Shaye thought he was about to Explode so he behind his mum just in case.
Shaye's mum said it is because he is old, and he doesn't know he is doing it. But Shaye knows only too well to fart as loud as Mr Carnegie did takes a lot of effort. And, his grandad is just as old, and he has never heard his grandad fart ever. A large crow is pulling the straw from the biggest scarecrow's head, another two are sitting on the scarecrow's arms. The scarecrows are not doing a very good job at scaring the crows.
