The economic downturn near the start of the Twentieth Century leaves two young women and their father in dire financial straits. Papa Johnson, the head of the family develops a problem with his speaking voice that has disastrous consequences for his stage career. He saves his two daughters from becoming homeless by taking a job in the new silent picture industry. After a time, the two girls follow him into this blossoming industry, and learn that the real price of success entails.
The manager of the studio has an idea to extend his business by shooting films that will be shown in such places as men's clubs, and underground drinking establishments. Vicky and Darla Johnson soon find themselves as the female leads in the birth of adult oriented entertainment.
