Running along the shore with a kite bigger than they are, Kiki and Madi make several failed attempts to launch their kite. When their Grandpa takes over and the kite ends up nose down in the sand, a nearby pelican swoops in to help.
Taking the string in his beak, the pelican flaps his large wings and soars high above the ocean with the kiteits tail chasing the course. But what happens once the pelican lets go of the string? Find out when he and his buddy, Gullible, discover the love of family and embark on an adventure a mere pelican could only dream of . . . .

About the Author

Inspiration is subjective, mine is family. After raising our daughter, I went to work at Pomona College in California. When given the opportunity to watch our granddaughter, I left Pomona after eleven years. I came away from the College with memories of trips abroad, wonderful friends and a heightened appreciation of academia. We should never stop listening, learning or expressing and each of those can be nurtured when reading to a child.

My role as grandmother renewed my love of children's books and presented me with two beautiful reasons to write Grandma's Imaginary Shtick Beat the Doldrums and Skipper.
