A Soldier of Manhattan, published by Joseph A. Altsheler in 1899, is the story of an American officer, a native of New York, who takes part in the expedition against Fort Ticonderoga, is there made prisoner, is carried to Quebec, makes his escape, and serves under Wolfe. The local colour of life in New York and Canada at the period is portrayed.
