STARE AND OTHER SHORT STORIES holds three tales of the otherworldly.

"Stare" follows the twenty-year-old Charlie, traveling late at night on a lonely highway. His only companion on the road being a single semi-truck, Charlie imagines the danger he could be in, but makes light of the idea. However, when Charlie receives a call from an unknown number, he learns that he may not have just been imagining.

Some people love the sea, but "Cruise" stops to think twice. A teenage girl who hates the ocean finds herself on a cruise ship during a vacation with her parents. In an attempt to distract herself, she takes some time to explore the deck, where her worst fear rises to meet her.

"Of the Forest" is a story from an entire different world. Masha lives in the forest that houses a giant tortoise, but only because it allows her to. On a day she planned to go hunting, Masha finds herself distracted by an object resting over the water on the forest's lake. When she investigates, Masha is forced steel herself against what the forest has to throw at her.
