"Clear, terse, an inspiration to the reader." -Fourth Estate
"Will be eagerly read by many Americans." - The Century
"A book that merits a wide circulation." -The Living Church

In a little book of only 63 pages Charles M. Schwab, the famous steel magnate, in 1917 set forth his views on the subject of "Succeeding with What You Have." The famous steel master, reveals in its pages the secret of his own success and describes the inner workings of the Bethlehem plant.

In the brief pages of his little volume, the wealthy steel magnate relates some of his own and other people's experiences together with stories of his own employees. He touches on the points in favor of education in regard to the individual worker and on the success that may be attained in spite of ignorance.

He shows the advantages of the profit-sharing system as exemplified in the work of Bethlehem. There are anecdotes about Andrew Carnegie, Captain Bill Jones and other notables.

The man who assimilates Mr. Schwab's lucid American business maxims is sure to win out in the battle for existence. Here are a few nuggets for the would-be winner in the struggle for existence: "Don't be afraid of imperiling your health by giving a few extra hours to the company that pays your salary! Don't be reluctant about putting on overalls! Bare hands grip success better than kid gloves. Be thorough in all things, no matter how small or distasteful! The man who counts his hours and kicks about his salary is a self-elected failure."

Men who have succeeded, he declares, are not prodigies, but hard-workers. "American industry," he adds, "is spilling over with the men who started even with the present leaders; there is not a man in power at the Bethlehem steel plant who did not begin at the bottom and work his way up."

The book sums up the point of view of one of the leaders of our industrial world. It "will appeal to every one interested in the psychology of business."
