He had never seen such confusion. #4 The Battle of Sailor's Creek was a costly one for the Confederacy, as it resulted in around 7,700 casualties compared to only 1,148 for the Union. It was also disastrous for the Confederates, as they lost almost 300 wagons and ambulances.
