Romania in the late 19th Century was one of several eastern European nations that had become perilous for Jews. #2 The Moscovici family left their homeland for the United States in 1900 when Jacques was four. They spent a number of weeks getting their papers in order for entry into the United States. They arrived in Buffalo, New York, in 1901. #3 The automobile industry was extremely fast-paced in the early 1900s. While the newer generation of mass-produced vehicles were now within the reach of millions more drivers, few of those buyers could pay cash for them. #4 Jack Mossler, who had come to America in 1900, married a local girl, Evelyn Mae Kizer, in 1918. The couple bought their first home in 1919. In 1930, with their fortunes rising, they moved into a larger home on Music Street in the 8th Ward. Their four daughters were born in 1930.
