Dr. Michel Lazare is standing on the Giza plateau, his sight fixated on the Great Pyramid and impervious to the horde of tourists about him. A strange feeling that he has some connection to this enigmatic monument that has occupied his mind since his childhood descends upon him. He wonders as to the true story behind this world-famous structure, the only remaining of the seven wonders of the ancient world. As he ponders all he has learned about this ancient site, the accepted notion that the Great Pyramid was built as a tomb for the fourth dynasty Pharaoh Khufu made no sense to him. He can't help but feel that the entire Giza complex is a planned and integral whole which because of its size and complexity must tell the greatest of stories, and whatever that story may be, only the most impressive of monuments would have been deemed suitable for its commemoration. But for a monument to tell a story it must foremost specify a date for the occurrence of the events it commemorates. The theory that he had devised as a part of his PhD thesis had established the date of the construction of the Great Pyramid to around 20,000 years BCE, but his methodology could not reveal the story behind Giza. He knew that uncovering that story was central to his quest and while he had not deciphered that story completely, he now had some sense it was intimately connected what the ancient knew as 'The Mysteries'.

His thoughts turn to the strange man he meets in his dreams, who always appears to him inside the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid dressed in the garbs of an ancient Egyptian priest. He's now certain that this man has an intimate connection to the Giza site and to the ancient Mysteries of Isis and Osiris which are at the heart of the story of Giza. He recalls the words of Socrates who had been initiated into the first degree of the Mysteries, 'Those who are acquainted with the Mysteries insure to themselves very pleasant hopes against the hour of death.' Those words make perfect sense to him, for he knows from his own strange experiences, and from what he has learned of the ancient Mysteries that he must have been initiated into the first and second degree of the Mysteries in past lives. But there is also a third and final degree of the Mysteries, one which no mortal has ever partaken in, and he can't help but wonder if that is reason the man in his dream appears to him. Could it be his destiny to be initiated into the final degree of the Mysteries? But if so, why him and for what purpose?

In this final book of 'The Sun of Man' trilogy, Michel Lazare will experience the greatest tragedy of his young life, one which will bring him to the edge of suicide. But he will remember his promise to Angelina and become emboldened to face his destiny. His journey will end when he will experience what many sages, mystics, and scientists have said: 'The world of the senses is but an illusion'. As he enters that world beyond the senses, he will ascertain that the destiny of humanity is to climb the next rung on the cosmic evolutionary ladder. But a great storm is fast approaching which could derail that destiny, and he has been given the mission to warn his brethren of what lies ahead if they do not change their ways, but will anyone listen?
