Sustainable Human Development: Issues and Challenges

With the industrial development in India accompanied by urbanisation and expansion of commerce, large towns and cities have grown, isolation of the villages have been broken and the country has now considerable experience in the field of modern business, industry and finance. However, the development which has taken place is partial and limited in terms of country's needs and potentialities. But, for the community as a whole, the economic development has brought no significant improvement in standards of living and opportunities for employment and has to some extent accentuated the inequalities of income and wealth. The challenge of 21st century require total newness on all fronts. This book is an attempt to codify various experiences which can help and facilitate acceleration of smooth change. There are no permanent solutions because there can never be, but, some direction is proposed in this regard. While part one tackles various marketing issues, part two looks at the training attitude and part three examines some policy issues.
