I'm lying in bed, trying to find the willpower to get up and shower, when Joanie comes in. She's got a weird look on her face.
"I just got a weird text from Amber," she says.
"Amber?" It takes me a moment. "Stacked Amber?"
"She wants to know if we want to quarantine together."
I raise my eyebrow at the emphasis she gave the q-word.
She hands the phone to me.
I scroll through the message thread.
I hand Joanie her phone back, at a loss for words.
"What do you think?" Joanie asks. Her tone is careful, measured, but her lips betray her, a ghost of a smirk in their twitch.
What do I think? I think I'm excited. Like I haven't really been since this mess started.
