Following several months of research, Tawny Jordan and her friend Faith gladwin hire Tanner, a safari guide in hopes of finding a crystal statue called The MONKEY GOD of which she found numerous notations during her research. The statue has been little more than a phantom whisper among the native peopes for several centuries.
Their search is delayed while Tanner deals with another client who, disgusted with their safari, shoot Tanner and kidnap the two women. Tanner recovers from teh wound and resuces them.
They return to the trading post where Tanner purchases a fourteen year old girl who had been kidnapped. The attempt to return her home, only to learn her parents were murdered by the kidnappers.
Following severla more delays, they return to the search for the MONKEY GOD.
