The problems of child abuse, delinquency, and the disintegration of cultural standards and values have swamped society today. A quick glance at these anomalies will reveal that they are mostly the result of poor parenting. The majority of parents neglect this God-given duty to "Train up a kid in the way he should develop" (Proverbs 22:6) by being either indifferent or careless. More specifically, most parents have delegated the upbringing of their biological children to nannies, maids, teachers, youth leaders at the church, and social peer groups, leaving these kids without the foundational skills they need to become independent adults.
