THE BATTLE FOR THE CHRISTIAN MIND

All humans have been created in the image of God, given the free will to choose to follow the life-course outlined by in the Scriptures and find his favor. However, every Christian can stumble in their walk with God, becoming mired in our imperfection and human weaknesses, even developing unhealthy thinking. Paul exhorts us to "not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind." (Rom. 12:2) In The Battle for the Christian Mind, Andrews helps us to see that our faithful life-course is a journey of many decades, in which, we must continue on a lifelong journey of growth, and there is always room to mature more in our faith. The apostle Paul encouraged us always to "Keep testing ourselves to see if we are in the faith. Keep examining ourselves!' (2 Cor. 13:5) 

In The Battle for the Christian Mind, the reader will learn how to examine himself or herself as to spiritual growth, take an in-depth look at our sinful nature and human imperfection, as well as how we can become sound in mind, as we take on the mind of Christ more fully. We will learn about the battle for the Christian mind that Satan is waging against each of us. In addition, we will see how we can be transformed by the renewal of our mind. Once renewed, we will learn what it takes to keep our mind renewed. We will investigate spiritual sicknesses of mind and heart, as we learn how to deal with our destructive self-defeating thoughts. Wise Solomon urged us "above all things get wisdom; whatever else you get, get understanding." (Pro. 4:7) This, we will do as well. Finally, we will investigate exactly what the Bible has to say about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which is the key to it all.
