The first female author to win the Booker prize twice, Dame Hilary Mantel, who passed away at age 70 after suffering a stroke, did so for the first two books of her epic trilogy about Thomas Cromwell's life, Wolf Hall (2010) and Bring Up the Bodies (2012).
