Lovewain is subtitled Today, Yesterday, and Tomorrow, for reasons that soon become apparent to the reader. The story is set in the wonderfully romantic Isle of Man, and was prompted by my late wife's tapestry version of John Constable's famous painting, 'The Haywain'.
I have said many times that I would like to go back to my school days with the knowledge and experience I have today. This story is an expedition into that idea.
The main character Harry regresses from the age of sixty-three and while making love to his wife Susan he regresses to the age of twenty-two. The year is 1936, and the month is late September. He interacts with many of the people he remembers from that era. But strangely he cannot remember that he later marries Susan. She is blanked from his 'future' memories. He regresses once more to the age of sixteen at school.
Can he change the future by his return into the past or has his return already been ordained? The reason he cannot remember Susan becomes apparent when... (AH AH SECRET)
Harry returns to his own time, minus the arthritis he previously suffered from, even more active than he was before, totally committed to his love for his wife Susan. Whilst in the past Harry is wise enough to invest a small amount of money and so becomes one of the richest men on the island when he returns.
