Starting a new retail business is never easy, as amateur sleuth, Thomas Hawke is also investigating two murders connected to a jewelry store heist in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Marrying his fiancé on January 1, in the year when 380 billion inhabitants lived on Earth, Thomas Hawke tries to find a balance in marriage, home, and work, while solving a crime with help of his paranormal skills, initially with a crystal ball, then without. With major crimes by the same group of vicious criminals imminent, Thomas Hawke races to bring the perpetrators to justice before they heinously hit again. He has time to watch the news, read, and study the Ten Commandments, or at least Five Commandments. His wife, Victoria, is an active partner in The Expenditure Store, the name of their retail business with a distinct customer market, in mind. Both Thomas and Victoria are ambitious, working during the day in their business careers and are cautious of threats to their personal security, financial and bodily. Courageously, Thomas Hawke must take down the criminals of these murders and major theft before this gang can do similar lethal destruction, yet again... as anyone can be their next... dead victims.
