Officers were summoned to a street in East Cleveland, Ohio, when locals started to complain about a particularly offensive smell. Police entered the garage after following the smell inside to find a gruesome sight. The decomposing corpse of a lady was lying in the fetal position, wrapped in a layer of rubbish bags.

The next day, detectives began their investigation of the abandoned house, one of several in the poor Cleveland East Side community. A second corpse was discovered in the basement in a similar condition as the first. A third corpse, this one buried in the rear, would be discovered during an excavation of the property. All three of the women looked to have been killed within ten days of their finding, and at least one of them was discovered without clothes meaning it was a work of a Serial Rapist.
