Teen Fever

It's the long, hot summer of 2007 and the last week of the school term drags on.

Daphne is overweight, ginger and wear glasses. She has no boyfriend but then, she's not really looking for one anyway. All she wants to do is get through the next few days unnoticed. But that will prove difficult because, as the resident virtuosic pianist at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, which is run to a very tight schedule by the nuns, Daphne is due to play the solo at the upcoming prizegiving. And Daphne is going to be the center of attention whether she likes it or not.

Chloë, on the other hand, is thin, blond, hot, and has no virtues whatsoever. She's recently split from her boyfriend and is not man-mad and desperate. What's even worse is that she and her two bitchy friends are all on their period, and that's making them even meaner and moodier than ever. All that's on Chloë's mind is the weekend. She and the girls need to decide where they will go clubbing .. and what to wear to get the guys looking at them. It's also fast approaching the launch of the new iPhone, and Chloë is desperate to get her manicured hands on one. And what Chloë wants, Chloë usually gets.

School life in small-town America never looked so insular and petty. Everything is everyone's business and the idea of community is just a cheap façade. Despite the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, there's not much anyone can find to celebrate. It's no wonder that things aren't going well. And Daphne and Chloë are on a collision course for sure.
