The Adinkra Cloth & Other Stories

"The Adinkra Cloth & Other Stories" contains five "African fantasy" short stories by Nebula Finalist Mary C. Aldridge. Besides the title story, this volume includes Cauldron winner story "The Knife That Makes Men," "The Windela Man," the light-hearted "A Courting Story," and "The Work Leader." "The Work Leader" is a novelette-length tale that was awarded a Fiction Fellowship by the Massachusetts Artists Foundation.

"The Adinkra Cloth & Other Stories" includes a short Introduction by the author ("Fantastic Roots, or: Story Gumbo"). This Introduction briefly discusses origins of the stories and gives readers a peek into the mind of the fantasy writer.
