The Altar Of Appreciation

Remember the scripture makes a direct link between thanksgiving and effective prayer. ¿Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.¿(Phil 4:6 KJV). ¿I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;¿(1 Tim 2:1 KJV).

Displace negative thoughts with thankful thoughts. Every time you have negative thought, counter it with a word of thanks to God. Try taking several times a day to review recent events and thank God for them. At the least, make sure as you retire in the evening that you look back on the day¿s activities and deliberately thank God for each experience you¿ve been through.

It is good to occupy your mind with thankful thoughts. Being thankful will tend to put you in company and situations that encourage thankfulness, giving you positive feedback and making the thanksgiving habit easier. Remember, getting right with God through the thanksgiving habit neutralizes negative feelings.
