Lady Maud, the Ward of Roger Earl of Shrewsbury is abducted whilst visiting Madeley Grange and her bodyguard of four Norman Knights killed by a Welsh warband.
The warband destroy the Chapel and outbuildings of the Grange killing several monks. The Earl sends five warriors over Offa's Dyke to rescue Lady Maud.
This is a story set in the Welsh Marches just prior to the Norman invasion of Wales.
