The author's own life history is the inspiration from which this story is spun. The Boy Child depicts a young, lonely boy desperately seeking the love of his parents. Fighting to win the love of his mother from the step-sister, separated from his father by divorcement, the mischievous Roy finally wins love for the family.
About the Author
David Machio taught English at a private primary school, where he also worked as the school manager. He later studied Medical Imaging Sciences to scan unborn babies on ultrasound and operate X-ray, CT scan and MRI.
His writing and public speaking talent earned David awards in high school as well as an appreciation certificate from The Gender Violence Recovery Centre for exemplary performance in the Inter-universities GBV Awareness contest held at the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Nyeri 2018.
