Frank McNally is an asshole. At least that's what the people say. Who, you ask? Well, everybody. His neighbours, his work colleagues, the shopkeeper at his corner store. Even the little girl who walks all the dogs in the building where Frank lives. But the one's Frank really hates are the bums, the winos, the homeless that sit in the street and talk to themselves, or rather, seem to be talking to themselves.
But what if someone was actually listening? What if they weren't talking to themselves but were in fact talking to someone as real as you and me? And what if that someone doesn't like the way Frank has been abusing the less-than-fortunate ones?
Frank is about to take a journey, unlike any journey he has ever undertaken before. He is about to learn that everybody has a story to tell, whether he likes it or not. It's time for Frank to learn the most important lesson of his life and maybe, just maybe, he will make it home again.
