Captain Frederick Marryat was an English writer. He served in the British Navy as an officer and his naval experience helped him later in the process of writing books. From 1832 till 1835 Marryat worked as the editor of 'The Metropolitan Magazine' and at the same time he wrote his own stories. 'The Children Of The New Forest' is one of the most popular and successful literary works of Captain Marryat. It is a children's novel which tells us about four kids whose parents get killed during the English Civil War in 1647. The children are saved by a local gamekeeper who begins to take care of them.
