The Criteria List

Twenty-three-year-old Catherine (Kate) Pieterson has had a tumultuous few months. In the space of a few weeks, her parents moved from Sydney to London, leaving her to look after her younger brother, Alex. She and Alex had to move house, and then Kate and her boyfriend of four years, Jacques, broke up.

When Kate bumps into her university friend Melati (Mel) after not seeing each other for nearly two years, they catch up over dinner. After hearing about Kate's breakup with Jacques, Melati insists that Kate needs a Criteria List to move forward and not make the same mistakes again. Together, Mel and Kate, with Mel's girlfriend Robbie and their flatmate Nathan, create Kate's Criteria List for a Boyfriend.

The Criteria List is a short story from the interconnected Single in Sydney series featuring Kate, the main character from Avoiding the Friend Zone.
