Amanda has always felt that there was something different about her but she is still unclear as to what it might be. Why do her dreams feel so real?
Frederick tries to convince Amanda that she has nothing to fear from him and that she must have had a bad dream. After they spend the night together, he invites her to meet his parents.
At first she is reluctant to go, fearing that his parents won't approve, but she can sense that Frederick needs her support to face the family that he hasn't seen for some time. So she agrees to accompany him. But his family is hiding dark secrets and Frederick clearly has a difficult relationship with them, especially his brother.
Meanwhile, Amanda finds herself falling for Frederick's charms and it is clear that he finds her irresistible as she finds herself in his arms and in his bed. But she is still plagued with the strange dreams and wonders if she should have taken Aunt Polly's advice to run away?
