William Makepeace Thackeray (1811 1863) was a famous English novelist of the 19th century. Best known for his satirical works, particularly Vanity Fair, a panoramic portrait of English society. During his literary life Thackeray was considered to be the best realistic and comic authors satirizing high society, military powers, the institution of marriage and hypocrisy. The Diary of C.Jeames is novel by Thackeray written in the epistolary genre published in 1848. The main character is Jeames De La Pluche has its own diary which he treasures and puts his notes only after rethinking them too thoroughly. He never puts in there negative points of his life, only happy moments and positive events in spite of too short moments.
