The Drive-In Movie

Rage bribes Jones to a Drive-In movie with the one treat he cannot resist, homemade doughnuts. The weather is pleasant for Seattle and as it darkens the windows start to roll up. But not so much on some cars to keep the windows from completely steaming up. A trip to the snack bar is made before the movie gets to the climax.
The second movie is running, and Rage has a knock on her jeep's driver's window, "Give me your key, phone and money or I will shoot."
She turns to face a double barrel shotgun hitting the side window. She makes a remark to alert Jones, then turns to the gunman, "Get out of here or I will kick your butt to the police station."
Jones yells, "Ears," just before he pulls the triggers."
The shooter is thrown into the next vacant stall. Rage and Jones are out of the jeep armed with Colts, phones, and lights. They shoot several robbers trying to hold up other cars. Rage goes toward the entrance; Jones goes to the exit.
More shots ring out, but they are drowned out by the shooting on the screen.

Rage goes to put a message over the speakers for everyone to get down and don't start your car. She shoots several cars dead to stop them from leaving. Jones is trying to block the exits.
The police take a call about the Drive-In holdup. When the call comes from Rage and Jones with their intent to shoot first, a mad rush is made to the scene. The police's lights the Drive-In but that will not do the job and they wait until the fire department installs their large lights.
It takes all night to separate the movie goers from the hiding robbers mixed in with them. Rage and Jones return the next afternoon to assist in the investigation.
They are faced with a question, 'why tear the snack bar phones off the wall and then issue a fake repair man to pick the up, to be replaced with new ones later?'

In a senior police chief's meeting Inspector Strong offers an observation, "This more than a Drive-In holdup. There is nothing worth the risk. What did they want to test?"
Later Rage has several thought which the Inspector passes along to the FBI.

Several weeks later in LA all their questioned are answered.
