Believe it or not, our concept of what happiness is, in many ways is nothing more than a programmed belief instilled in us through the constant bombardment of the media and in turn societal expectations. In other words, starting in early childhood our understanding of the concept of happiness is molded into shape through the beliefs of what others deem it to be, and most of the time it is based on something outside of our selves.

Unfortunately, the more we chase happiness externally the more elusive it seems to become, and the price we pay is a high one at that. So, how do we stop bankrupting ourselves?
