A serial killer is on the prowl in Charlotte, killing his victims by draining them of their blood. The killer must be a vampire, right? Well if it isn't a vampire who and why? These are questions that Cassandra must answer while dealing with Jared MacAllistair, the vampire king of Charlotte.

Could all of this be linked to The Mall of The Endless Night that is close to completion or could it also be linked to Cassandra's past which even the vampire king of Chicago could not find anything on. One thing is for sure, nobody will be quite the same.
