The Friend is an unusual inspirational thriller. It depicts the shocking activity of the spirit world. This book teaches the importance of guarding your words, eyes, ears and heart. It gives insight to what happens on the flipside when one executes spiritual warfare.
Fiendish beings plot against the destiny of a five-year-old child as she grows into adulthood. Being ignorant of the devil's devices, she falls into a well-hidden trap and inadvertently gives place to his will. Now, with her heart deceived, evil advances to end her life and God's plan for it.

About the Author

Yolanda Hill was born to Johnnie and Verna Hill. She was raised in church and at a young age set her heart on being friends with God. She recalls that this decision began her experience with the spirit world.
"I became aware of God's presence for the first time when I was only five years of age. Jesus was my first and best friend. I woke up every day excited because I knew He would visit. At times, I strongly sensed His loving presence and talked to Him daily; we had fun. Whether playing, eating or watching cartoons, I always sensed Him watching over me. I was happy, but one day life became dramatic, even at five. As the days drew near for me to start my first year of school, I had an encounter with a different type of spirit. I remember sitting on the living room floor waiting for Jesus to come (I realize, now, that He was always there). I felt a weird presence. I turned around and saw three strangers, on the air, looking at me. They were not smiling and did not seem to like me. Jesus walked up on my left side and put His arms around me. I pointed at the three because I was concerned, but He said not to worry about them and that He
would always be with me; I felt protected. That was a very significant moment because I did not know how everlasting those words would be to my life. I looked back to the area and the strangers were gone. However, on my first day of school, three classmates portrayed themselves as friendly, then bullied me. These kids were different and seemed older than five or six. I had done nothing to them, but from the time we looked at each other they were offended and threatened to beat me up after school. I remember sitting at my desk praying for God's help. I asked Him to tell my mom what was happening so she could pray. I believe my classmates were being oppressed by the three spirits I had seen a few days prior. Through the years, faces and locations changed, the bullying did not. It followed me from first grade into my adult life by people who, first, presented themselves as friends. Accompanying that devilish behavior was always the manifestations of evil spirits. I held onto what Jesus told me that day as a child and was never afraid.
Throughout my life, whether weak or strong, many spirits have accosted my path, some were good and some were not. The Lord has shown and taught me about spirits and how they plot and interact with man. These were lessons I never asked for nor wanted. I was fed-up with meeting them, but one morning around 3:00 am, the Lord showed me that I was to write this book. I saw the title and what the content should be about. I was taken aback and did not want to do it; I shuddered. Nevertheless, I said, "Let Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." When I began this project, demonic manifestations increased. They tried to overwhelm and discourage me with their presence, but I knew that God was with me. I was not afraid. As I drew near to the completion of this book, I felt taller in the Spirit. Demons are smaller to me. I feel like I found out their secrets. I am glad that the Lord gave me this mission, although it really rattled me at first."
Contributions of three precious paragraphs and the subtitle, Spirit World, were donated by Yhavina McLendon, author of Christian Fantasy, Arouse The Dawn. She is also the poet of Yolanda Hill's devotional, Yhavina's Heart
