The Girl with the Golden Eyes is a short story that was written and published in 1834. It is part of a trilogy, the other two books are mentioned in the preface.
This book tells the story of an aristocratic young man named Henri de Marsay. Henri falls in love with a beautiful and mysterious young woman with golden eyes. He does everything possible to win her heart and soul. She only leads him on, then he discovers that she is involved with another man. And with this awakens his violent jealousy, with terrible consequences.
I have edited this book, corrected the misspelled words and changed many words to reflect more modern times. I have also added chapter names to make the reading more pleasurable. I have added over 25 of my favorite Balzac quotes and numerous photographs throughout the book. I have however left the many period words and situations as they are.
