THE GREAT ADVENTURE CLUB by Wayne Dickerson is a collection of five fantasy and magical adventure short stories about two boys, Michael and Simon. In the first story, "The Locker", Michael and Simon are the sole members of the Great Adventure Club. They attempt to complete a list of objectives passed down from previous club members who've since graduated. The two sneak into the girls' locker room to attempt to flip over a celebrated bench.
In "The Art Heist", Michael and Simon are attempting to steal art from a museum to complete another one of the objectives on their list. They must figure out how to get the paintings off the wall without raising the alarm while avoiding two comically inept security guards.
Michael and Simon are on a field trip in "The Camping Trip". They plan to sneak away and complete a task on the list, but everything goes horribly wrong when one of the boys is kidnapped by a mysterious green light and dragged away into the forest.
In "The Pyramid", the two boys travel to a pyramid as part of a mission on the list. The boys struggle to survive an attack from a Golem while trying to uncover the mystery of why remnants of many different cultures were found there.
Lastly, in "The Grimoire" a magic item goes out of control in Simon's room. The two boys fear for reality as they try to find a way back from the past.
