Great Zimbabwe, is a 15th century Southern African mighty empire, stretching from the Zambezi to the Limpopo. At the zenith of it prosperity it is ruled by Emperor Hungwe, a ruthless and strong willed Emperor, whose only dream if to attain total religious and political supremacy. His mind is set on becoming a divine being, believing that with such power, he can live and rule forever. In order to do so, he hatches an ingenious plan, that will change the religious and political hierarchies in his favour. By enlisting the aid of Chireshe a crafty self-proclaimed spirit medium and healer, and his beautiful, conniving, doting wife Chinake, he sets the wheels rolling. But one of his vassal kings, Nyatsimba Mutota is secretly organising a breakaway while at the same time, Kwatara, a young and devoted spirit medium, decides that he will not stand by and watch the Emperor, overturn the Empire's ancient religious order. The success of both these men, can lead to a catastrophic chain of events, that can derail all of Hungwe's plans. It is up to Hungwe, to use his ingenuity and quash any internal and external resistance in order for his bloodless coup, to offer him the divinity and immortality he sorely craves for.
