The Ja'Kari Brown Story

This book is about a child who was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus in his mother womb at 7 months. Hydrocephalus is believed to affect approximately one to two in every 1,000 children born in the U.S. highest in Africa and Latin America (145 and 316 per 100,000 births, respectively) and lowest in the United States/Canada (68 per 100,000 births). Every year, in sub-Saharan Africa alone, it is estimated that more than 100,000 infants develop hydrocephalus before 1 year of age. I'm telling my sons story to help educate mothers that believes it's impossible for their child to be as normal as possible due to this disability and the many disabilities that come after being diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. I wanted to share some of the techniques I used to help my son comprehend the things I was trying to teach him. To help him be able to do the things that normal boys his age should be doing.

My motto has always been DONT let the disability beat you, you beat the disability. Everything I have done to help my child get to where he is right now today is all out of love! Everything he has pushed through was because of love. So I'm basically sharing the ways I showed my son all the love he needed to be here today.

I have the spirt of a lion which makes me a warrior and also full of ambition. I'm Head strong, creative, and a single mother of 3. I never give up and I've always been true to myself no matter the circumstances.
