Andrew Lang (31 March 1844 20 July 1912) is well-known as a collector of British folk and fairy tales, but he was a Victorian poet, novelist, academic and critic too. His poem had success, but he became famous published Andrew Lang's Fairy Books of Many Colors series of twelve different colored collections of fairy tales books (1889-1910). It includes 437 tales from different countries and different cultures.
The Jackal, the Dove, and the Panther is a fairy tale published by Andrew Lang in The Pink Fairy Book in 1897. The Jackal is a smart, sharp one. Once he was prowling about in search of a dinner.
