The scientist teamed up with another scientist from a small pacific-ocean nation, called Topia, to which he eventually fled. The local scientist was a very difficult person and he insisted in using it only as a means to cure any disease known to man.
A twin brother-sister team was determined to gain and keep control of the company doing the research. They clash with a vicious North Korean agent who used bribery; political means; judicial action; and lastly brute force, to get his way.
Some of the people involved failed to fully grasp the danger of the killer fungus. Some showed tremendous bravery, but sadly others betrayed their friends in the worst possible way.
In the end the Chinese, who wanted to annex Topia, got involved.
Our unlikely hero, Bean Cross, had to come up with innovative counter measures, stretching even his abilities. His knife throwing skills was crucial. To find out if his abilities was enough, the reader will have to read this book.
The narrative can be described as multi-layered; the plotting fascinating and realistic; and the atmosphere intriguing.
